Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of university degree in law or accounting
Experience: Candidates should have 3 years of wealth planning experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge
  • The candidates should have a background and experience in estate, trust, or financial planning
  • The candidates should have in-depth experience dealing with High Net Worth (HNW) clients and their advisors
  • The candidates should possess in-depth knowledge and technical proficiency related to wealth and estate planning strategies, including insurance, tax, family and charity law, and business succession and experience as a lawyer, notary, or CPA with expertise in trust, wills, and estate planning
  • The candidates should have membership in the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to deliver Scotiatrust’s estate planning services and other estate and trust solutions to High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra-High Net Worth (UHNW) MD Management and Scotia Wealth Management clients by partnering with MD Management and Scotia Wealth Management partners to meet with HNW and UHNW clients and prospects, creating a positive experience for the client and the partner
  • The candidates should be able to add value by providing estate and trust solutions by preparing high-level estate plans, highlighting appropriate, needs-based estate planning strategies and solutions, and identifying other Wealth opportunities
  • The candidates should be able to develop and strengthen relationships and build new relationships with clients, partners, centres of influence, networking, and other business development opportunities
  • The candidates should be able to play a key risk management role by being responsible and accountable for always doing the right thing for clients and ensuring that actions and behaviours drive a positive client experience while operating within the relevant policies and guidelines established for the role
  • The candidates should be able to contribute to the effective functioning of the team by building effective working relationships with various business lines and corporate function contacts
  • The candidates should be able to coach and mentor Associate Estate & Trust Consultants and facilitate a culture of open and honest communication
  • The candidates should be able to create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/AFT/sanctions, and conduct risk
