Salary: $25.00 to $27.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 to 50 hours per week

Work setting: Rural area

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years 
Equipment and machinery experience: Tractor, Combine harvester, and Farm truck

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience in oilseed (except soybean) farming and be familiar with wheat farming methods
  • The candidates should have knowledge of other grain farming techniques and practices and have experience in grain, oil, and forage crop farming
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and exhibit attention to detail in their work
  • The candidates should be physically capable of handling demanding tasks, adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and able to bend, crouch, and kneel as required

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be organized in their tasks and responsibilities, maintain reliability in their work and commitments, and be quick learners, able to grasp new concepts rapidly
  • The candidates should be team players, capable of collaborating effectively with others, and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to various situations

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops, fertilize and spray crops, and harvest crops
  • The candidates should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, or harvesting, and perform general farm duties
  • The candidates should be able to develop work schedules, establish procedures, and ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
