Shifts: Day, Weekend
Transportation information: Valid driver’s license and own transportation, and Public transportation is not available
Type of crops: Apples, blueberries, field berries, garlic, orchard fruit, raspberries, and berries
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Area of specialization: Permaculture
Equipment and machinery experience: Farm truck, loader, tractor, manure spreader, planting equipment, tillage equipment, and hand tools
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to work independently, handle repetitive tasks, and handle heavy loads, demonstrating manual dexterity and paying attention to detail
- The candidates should be physically capable of performing demanding tasks, comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling, and able to adjust to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking as required by the job
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate good judgment and reliability, ensuring sound decision-making and consistent performance in their duties
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to apply fertilizers to promote plant growth and implement soil fertility programs to maintain optimal growing conditions
- The candidates should be able to apply the technique of hoeing between rows to control weeds and aerate the soil, weed fields to prevent competition with crops, and maintain a clean work area to ensure safety and efficiency
- The candidates should be able to perform budding techniques on trees for propagation purposes, plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops to ensure healthy growth, and harvest crops at the appropriate time to maximize yield
- The candidates should be able to tie and secure plants to support their growth, train trees to produce higher-quality fruit by proper pruning and shaping techniques, and operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment for efficient farm operations
- The candidates should be able to maintain the bee yard and beekeeping equipment to support bee health and honey production, ensuring the overall success of agricultural operations
