Salary: $15.30 to $18.50 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week

Work setting: Rural area with staff accommodation available
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience in hog and pig farming, coupled with knowledge in hog management techniques
- The candidates should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate attention to detail, capable of performing repetitive tasks efficiently
- The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, as well as sitting for extended periods and standing for extended periods
- The candidates should have the ability to distinguish between colors and be comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to handle animals with care and competence, ensuring their safety and well-being, and mark livestock appropriately to provide proof of ownership and facilitate identification
- The candidates should be able to monitor the health of animals, observing for any signs of illness or distress and taking appropriate action, and perform various pig littering activities, including clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering medications, identifying piglets, and performing castrations as required
- The candidates should be able to assist in the weaning process of young animals, ensuring a smooth transition to independent feeding, and feed and care for animals according to their specific dietary needs and schedules
- The candidates should be able to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in stables, barns, and pens, ensuring a healthy environment for animals, and identify and address disease and health issues affecting crops, livestock, and poultry, taking necessary measures to prevent and control outbreak
- The candidates should be able to manage water lines, airflow, and temperature settings in barns, pens, and chicken coops to provide optimal conditions for animal welfare
