Salary: $13.70 hourly for 80 to 90 hours bi-weekly
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent employment
Location: 98 mud lake road, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL, A0P 1E0
Shifts: Overtime, Early Morning, 07:00 to 16:00
Work setting: Staff accommodation is available, remote location and willing to relocate
Work site environment: Candidates should work in outdoors, in/on water, wet/damp, odours, dusty, hot and cold/refrigerated place
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates need experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Type of crops: Blueberries, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflowers, Onions, Strawberries and Tomatoes
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work overtime, under pressure, in fast-paced environment, maintain tight deadlines, perform repetitive tasks, handle heavy loads, pay attention to detail, sit, walk, stand for extended periods and also for bending, crouching, kneeling
- The candidate should be a combination of sitting, standing, walking and also have hand-eye co-ordination
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have experience of equipment and machinery like Carrot seeder, Farm truck, Manure spreader, Sprayer or duster, Tillage equipment and also Tractor
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able for hand harvesting vegetables, vegetable culling and also weeding
- The candidate should be able to harvest crops
- The candidate should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens, examine produce for quality and prepare for market and also write daily basic progress reports
