Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 3-5 years’ underground experience operating a Tophammer and ITH production drill

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience in L/H Production blasting
  • The candidates should have experience in Cable Bolt drilling and installation
  • The candidates should have accreditation in U/G common core modules and specialty modules associated with production drilling and blasting
  • The candidates should have experience drilling with Sandvik drills and experience blasting with Orica ikon system
  • The candidates should have a strong safety focus and should have the ability to work as a team and should have the ability to work independently
  • The candidates should be self-motivated with the ability to work alone and should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to proficiently operate Top Hammer and ITH Drills, Longhole Blasting, and Cable Bolting in a safe and efficient manner
  • The candidates should be able to develop and draft operational standards in collaboration with the General Foreman and able to assist with the assessment of Production Miner performance
  • The candidates should be able to communicate with Supervisors and Managers to identify training needs and ensure the application of operation standards
  • The candidates should be able to train, coach, and mentor Production Miners according to company standards and performance expectations
  • The candidates should be able to design and develop training tools for operational standards and able to identify and develop updated policies and procedures as needed
  • The candidates should be able to participate in Production Miner performance appraisals and able to conduct QA/QC checks on production activities to ensure adherence to standards and work quality
  • The candidates should be able to promote company safety programs and assess safety risks, implementing training plans to mitigate them
  • The candidates should be able to conduct time studies to optimize efficiency and able to participate in cost control projects
  • The candidates should be able to report any deficiencies to the supervisor and able to perform any other duties as assigned by their direct supervisor
