Job Description:

Position: Finance officer

Salary: $29.50 hourly for 30 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Calgary, AB

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, Quick Books, and Simply Accounting

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be accurate, should be focused on clients, should be dependable
  • The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills, should have excellent oral communication, should have excellent written communication
  • The candidate should be flexible, should be organized, should be reliable
  • The candidate should work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, calculate fixed assets and depreciation and keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • The candidates should be able to maintain general ledgers and financial statements, post journal entries and prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
  • The candidates should be able to prepare tax returns, prepare trial balance of books and reconcile accounts
