Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to handle repetitive tasks, perform physically demanding tasks, and stand for extended periods
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to show reliability and work effectively as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to cut and weigh fish fillets according to specifications, cut, clean, and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing, and inspect fish fillets to determine the optimal number and size of fillets
- The candidates should be able to unload fish and shellfish from fishing vessels, transport them by hand to the work area, and scrape away scales, cut fish, separate fillets, and remove scrap parts using a knife
- The candidates should be able to transport fish and shellfish to the work area, condition fish fillets for wrapping or freezing, and check products and packaging for defects to ensure conformance to company standards
- The candidates should be able to set up and operate machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate, or otherwise process fish or seafood products, perform corrective machine adjustments as required, and clean machines and immediate work areas
- The candidates should be able to sort fish according to species, weight, and destination
