Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed a diploma in a related field Kinesiology, Fitness and Health Promotion
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should provide a satisfactory criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening, dated within 30 days, prior to commencing the position

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess equivalent background and experience, hold a nationally recognized Personal Training Certification
  • The candidates should have certifications such as CSEP-CPT, CSEP-CEP, NSCA, FIS, or other specialty training certificates, or equivalent qualifications, current CPR Level “C”/AED & Standard First Aid certification

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to offer safe and effective fitness center supervision while delivering exceptional customer service
  • The candidates should be able to monitor and instruct patrons on the safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility, and strength training equipment
  • The candidates should be able to provide fitness center users with fitness information and promote Town of Oakville programs and services
  • The candidates should be able to provide fitness center orientations and tours, perform cleaning, upkeep, and small repairs on equipment, and maintain optimal operation of the center
  • The candidates should be able to educate customers on fitness center etiquette and ensure a positive experience, perform other duties
