Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have registered Kinesiologist, Certified Personal Trainer or Fitness Instructors Certificate from an accredited organization
Experience: Candidates should have Current Standard First Aid / CPR C from an accredited organization, or the ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should have minimum 18 years of age
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have exceptional customer service and communication skills
- The candidate should have Diploma in Physical Education/Kinesiology/Recreation considered an asset
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to supervise the fitness floor, engaging with participants to promote a positive experience and ensuring everyone’s safety
- The candidate should be able to conduct tours of the fitness centre and promote memberships and services
- The candidate should be able to provide a high level of front line customer service including greeting and engaging participants
- The candidate should be able to perform consultations/orientations according to City of Brampton protocol
- The candidate should be able to maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be responsive to any emergency situation
- The candidate should be able to deliver fitness programs following required standards
- The candidate should be able to complete administrative duties in a timely manner (eg. attendance, incident/accident reports, opening and closing procedures)
- The candidate should be able to maintain a safe and tidy program space ensuring equipment is set-up and stored appropriately
- The candidate should be able to report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor and take appropriate action
- The candidate should be able to participate in on and off site promotional and community events
- The candidate should be able to maintain an understanding of department programs and services
- The candidate should be able to understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff
- The candidate should be able to attend meetings/training as required
- The candidate should be able to perform other duties as assigned
