Salary: $32.00 hourly for 35 to 40 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Air Brakes Endorsement and Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should have expertise in mountain driving and be able to drive lighter, special-purpose trucks
  • The candidates should be able to obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
  • The candidates should be able to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • The candidates should oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, and pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
  • The candidates should perform preventive maintenance, receive and relay information to central dispatch, and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
  • The candidates should be proficient in tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo
  • The candidates should be able to transport and handle dangerous goods
  • The candidates should exhibit professionalism in customer service, arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations, and be capable of driving as part of a two-person team or convoy
  • The candidates should be able to load and unload goods, pay and receive payments for goods, and coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques
