Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Fieldwork location experience: Alberta, British Columbia, Maritimes, Ontario and/or Quebec, Prairies region, Territories
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Oil Sands Safety Association (OSSA) basic safety orientation (BSO), Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate, Rig Worker Fall Protection, Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate
Security and safety: Medical exam, Drug test
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be physically demanding, and a repetitive tasker
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
- The candidates should be willing to for overtime
- The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
- The candidates should be able to work at wet/damp area, noisy area, odours, outdoors, hot area, dusty area, dangerous areas, confined spaces, and cold/refrigerated area
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to manipulate sections of pipes or drill stems at rig floor during drilling and during the removal and replacement of pipes, drill stems, and drill bits
- The candidates should be able to assist other workers to maintain drilling equipment on drill floor
- The candidates should be able to handle, sort and move drill pipes, tools, cement and other materials, clean up rig areas
- The candidates should be able to assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling and service rigs and service equipment
- The candidates should be able to drive trucks to transport materials and well service equipment
