Southern Port Hotel based in Harbour Breton, NL is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Food and beverage server. Southern Port Hotel offers a casual dining experience with a menu featuring classic pub fare and locally sourced ingredients. The hotel also provides complimentary hot breakfast for all guests. We also offers a range of amenities and services, including a fitness center, indoor pool and hot tub, business center, and meeting and event spaces. Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years’
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be client focus, organized, flexible, and reliable
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizen and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position.
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to must be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages, present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travellers cheques or room billings
- The candidates should be able to describe menu items including daily specials for customers, advise on menu selections, clear and clean tables, trays and chairs
- The candidates should be able to greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverages, serve food and beverages
- The candidates should be able to take orders and relay to kitchen and bar staff, provide customer service
