Supervision: 5-10 people
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to bend, crouch, and kneel, and alternate between sitting, standing, and walking
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads, manage a large workload, and perform physically demanding tasks
- The candidates should be able to work overtime when required and meet tight deadlines
- The candidates should be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
- The candidates should be able to work in noisy environments and dusty conditions
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools, and measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- The candidates should be able to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems, as well as fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- The candidates should be able to schedule and co-ordinate work on sites and survey building locations and levels
- The candidates should be able to instruct apprentices and supervise other workers
- The candidates should be able to maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
