Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Equipment and machinery experience: Farm truck, planting equipment, sprayer or duster, tractor, hand tools
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience in corn farming, fruit and vegetable combination farming, and other miscellaneous crop farming
- The candidates should have experience in other vegetables and melon farming (except potato)
- The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, in wet or damp conditions, and in environments with odors
- The candidates should be comfortable working in dusty environments, able to work in hot conditions, and able to work in cold or refrigerated conditions
- The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work efficiently under pressure, meeting tight deadlines
- The candidates should be adept at handling repetitive tasks efficiently and be physically fit for tasks that involve handling heavy loads and are physically demanding
- The candidates should demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to distinguish between colors
- The candidates should be adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday, comfortable standing for extended periods, and able to walk as part of their regular tasks
- The candidates should be able to perform bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed, possess manual dexterity to handle tasks efficiently, and be prepared to manage a large workload efficiently
- The candidates should be capable of lifting weights from to 23 kg (50 lbs) to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate flexibility in adapting to various situations and exercise good judgment in decision-making
- The candidates should be a team player, capable of collaborating effectively with others, and uphold strong values and ethics in their professional conduct
- The candidates should be reliable in meeting commitments and deadlines
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to collect brush, clean crops, and perform clipping
- The candidates should be able to perform deleafing, grade crops, and hand harvest vegetables
- The candidates should be able to hoe crops, plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops, and perform weaning
- The candidates should be able to weed crops, fertilize and spray crops, and harvest crops
- The candidates should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, sort and pack fruits and vegetables, and pick row and orchard crops
- The candidates should be able to load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce, livestock, and poultry, and clean the work area
