Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Food specialties: Vegetables, fruits, nuts and mushrooms
Equipment and machinery experience: Fertilizer applicator, Farm truck, Manure spreader, Lift truck, Loader, Planting equipment, Sprayer or duster, Tillage equipment, Vegetable harvester, Tractor
Automated systems experience: Automated irrigation system
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, be physically demanding, and a repetitive tasker
- The candidates should be able to do fruit and vegetable combination farming
- The candidates should be able to do sound discrimination
- The candidates should be able to distinguish between colours
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to work in tight deadlines
- The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
- The candidates should be willing to for overtime
- The candidates should be able to handle Hand-eye co-ordination
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be organized, flexible, and judgmental
- The candidates should have efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to do grading, greenhouse cleaning, harvesting seedlings
- The candidates should be able to hand harvesting vegetables, mixing fertilizer
- The candidates should be able to vegetable culling, weeding, fertilize and spray crops
- The candidates should be able to harvest crops, operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- The candidates should be able to detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry
- The candidates should be able to examine produce for quality and prepare for market
- The candidates should be able to set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops
