Job Description:

Salary: $17.23 hourly for 45 to 55 hours per week
Employment Type: Seasonal employment Full time
Location: Kinghorn, ON
Shifts: Day, Weekend

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Area of specialization: Nursery or greenhouse

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, perform repetitive tasks, have manual dexterity, and distinguish between colours
• The candidates should have attention to detail, be able to stand for extended periods, walk for extended periods, and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• The candidates should have experience in other vegetables and melon farming (except potato), be able to work in dusty environments, hot conditions, and noisy environments

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should be reliable, team players, uphold values and ethics, be quick learners, and be punctual

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to clean the crops, grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, colour, and volume to fetch high price in market, and clean greenhouses
• The candidates should be able to guide growing shoots into optimal development positions, hand harvest vegetables, and pick row and orchard crops
• The candidates should be able to clean work area and examine product for quality and its readiness for the market
