JC BERRIES INC based in Abbotsford, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of General labourer – farm. JC BERRIES INC is a family owned blueberry farm that has now expanded to provide the Lower Mainland with frozen fruit and berries for all residential and commercial baking needs. During the summer months we provide our customers with fresh berries from local farms, along with a variety of frozen products. We started off with just providing blueberries and now have grown to include many other options for our customers. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $16.50 hourly for 35 to 40 hours per week

Location: Abbotsford, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Overtime and Morning
Work setting: Staff accommodation is available, rural area, room and board provided and relocation costs covered by employer
Work site environment: Candidates should work outdoors, wet/damp, odours, dusty, hot and cold/refrigerated place
Security and safety: Criminal record should checked
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Type of crops: Blueberries
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work overtime and also for bending, crouching, kneeling
- The candidate should be physically strong and also a combination of sitting, standing, walking
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in a flexible environment and also in an organized way
- The candidate should be a team player
- The candidate should have experience of equipment and machinery like Farm truck, Fertilizer applicator, Forage equipment, Fruit harvester, Loader, Planting equipment, Seed drill, Sprayer or duster, Tillage equipment and also Tractor
- The candidate should have experience of automated systems like Automated irrigation system
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able for budding trees, clipping, deleafing, fruit trees training, grading, shoot positioning, suckering, tying and also weeding
- The candidate should be able to clean crop, harvest crops, plant, cultivate and irrigate crops and also fertilize and spray crops
- The candidate should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment and also examine produce for quality and prepare for market
