Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should possess a post-secondary college diploma or University degree
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 6 years of railway operations experience or strong heavy industry-based knowledge
Medical Requirements: The candidates should be aware that CPKC is committed to the safety and health of its employees and the general public. This position is a safety-sensitive position, and all new hires will be required to complete a pre-employment medical that includes physical, vision, hearing, alcohol, and drug audit assessments. Qualification drug test(s) are also required
Background Investigation: The successful candidate will need to successfully complete the clearances like criminal history check, reference check, and driver’s License Verification

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop, implement, and review a 3 to 12 month business plan to contribute to the achievement of a 1 to 2 year vision and business plan
- The candidates should be able to apply their best endeavors and full commitment to develop, implement, and execute the daily Locomotive Maintenance facility plan (across all shifts), in support of the system and local operating plans
- The candidates should be able to be accountable for the output/results of direct reports related to the daily production plan, and adjust the plan as required to achieve maximum locomotive reliability, safety, and productivity
- The candidates should be able to ensure the application of locomotive maintenance/servicing is in compliance with CPKC’s maintenance regulations, AAR standards, manufacture specifications, and TC/FRA regulations
- The candidates should be able to ensure the application of CPKC safety practices, policies, procedures, and output/results by all direct reports. In addition, they should take appropriate corrective measures as required. This is to be documented through memorandums, Marvin form, formal investigations, etc.
- The candidates should be able to assist in setting performance objectives for direct reports to improve their effectiveness and invoke performance improvement/development (i.e. training, courses, etc.) as necessary
- The candidates should be able to implement approved Continuous Improvement recommendations to improve productivity and effectiveness for Locomotive Maintenance
- The candidates should be able to provide feedback and coach direct reports to improve their effectiveness and invoke performance improvement/development (i.e. training, courses, etc.) as necessary
- The candidates should be able to ensure qualified staff resources are available to maintain and repair locomotives according to CP’s maintenance regulations, Manufacture specs, AAR standards, and TC/FRA regulations
- The candidates should be able to ensure that they and their direct reports within Locomotive Maintenance conduct all activities consistent with the collective agreement
