Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Equipment and machinery experience: Dump truck and Tractor-trailer
Credentials: CPR Certificate, Driver’s License (Class 1 or A), First Aid Certificate, Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate
Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract)
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be attentive to detail and capable of handling heavy loads
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate flexibility, exhibit good judgment, be organized, and be reliable
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to load, unload, operate, and drive straight or articulated trucks for transporting goods and materials
- The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, and perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- The candidates should be able to perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and ensure the safety and security of cargo while tarping and receiving and relaying information to central dispatch
