Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a high school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience with heavy equipment or grooming operations

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work unsupervised for long periods of time
  • The candidates should be in good physical shape and able to lift up to 75 lbs and work through the night

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have be able to read, write, understand, and speak English and a valid B.C. Driver’s license
  • The candidates should have previous snowmaking experience at Panorama Mountain Resort and shift experience and above-average mechanical aptitude
  • The candidates should have knowledge of the operation and function of hydraulic systems

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform light maintenance of vehicles, tools, and implements
  • The candidates should be able to perform food and trash runs, propane delivery, general hauling, and racecourse construction
  • The candidates should be able to stay abreast of new developments in the safe, proper operation of grooming vehicles and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform grooming in a reasonable, well-directed manner on a nightly basis, following an established plan organized by management
  • The candidates should be able to perform and be accountable for safe slope grooming at night, sometimes in adverse weather conditions on rough, uneven, and steep terrain while operating a $250,000 piece of equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform inspections of Snowcat daily and report unusual sights or sounds when they arise to management
