Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years of trade experience and successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should meet Air Canada medical standards for safety-critical work, including passing a medical evaluation with drug and alcohol testing
  • The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of employment at the time of offer and be responsible for securing any necessary work permits or visas
  • The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations as outlined by Transport Canada

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge of drive-trains, diesel and gasoline engines, and working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • The candidates should be able to apply skills in metal fabrication and welding, with these considered an asset for the role
  • The candidates should possess hold a valid 310S, 310T, or Red Seal certification and a valid Automotive Service Technician, Commercial Transport Mechanic, or Heavy-Duty Mechanic trades certification with an Inter-Provincial Red Seal
  • The candidates should hold Advanced Fuel Injection and Diesel Engine Tune-Up, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Propane Fuel Systems, and Automotive Inspection certificates or licenses
  • The candidates should have prior experience maintaining mobile ground power equipment, air conditioners (up to 110 tons), and air start units, or comparable experience in farm or heavy industrial equipment and possess a current security clearance
