Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time of employment and be responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas, or authorizations
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess a CPA Card: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd level Mechanic OR Red Seal and a valid Automotive Service Technician, Commercial Transport Mechanic, or Heavy Duty Mechanic trades certification
- The candidates should be able to successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam and meet Air Canada’s medical standards, including a medical evaluation and drug and alcohol test, and must be free of any intoxicating substances
- The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations as per Transport Canada regulations
- The candidates should have Advanced Fuel Injection, Diesel Engine Tune-Up certificates and licenses and Air Conditioning and Refrigeration certificates and licenses and Propane Fuel Systems certificates, licenses
- The candidates should have an Automotive Inspection certificate, licenses and previous experience maintaining mobile ground power equipment, including generators, air conditioners (up to 110 tons), air start units (compressors up to 250 cfm), or experience in farm or heavy industrial equipment and possess current security clearance
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge of drive-trains, diesel and gasoline engines to effectively diagnose and repair mechanical issues
- The candidates should be able to apply working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems to troubleshoot and maintain equipment efficiently
- The candidates should be able to utilize skills in metal fabrication and welding, which would be considered an asset in performing maintenance and repairs
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret various schematic diagrams to support maintenance troubleshooting and problem-solving
- The candidates should be able to operate computers and diagnostic tools proficiently to assess and repair equipment accurately
- The candidates should be able to work effectively as a team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The candidates should be able to maintain a customer-focused attitude while working in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be able to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines and operational
