Salary: $25.00 to $29.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract Full time
Location: Calgary, AB
Shifts: Day, Weekend, Overtime, On Call, Flexible Hours, To be determined, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, own transportation, own vehicle, and vehicle supplied by employer

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Lawn care, tree service, grounds maintenance, design, and landscape construction
Specialization or experience: Green economy sector, specialized environmental skills, and knowledge
Equipment and machinery experience: Chain saw, pick-up truck, small engine equipment, sod cutter, and tractor mower 
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots 
Security and safety: Bondable, basic security clearance, criminal record check, driver’s validity licence check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors as needed
  • The candidates should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure, capable of meeting tight deadlines, and able to handle heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks
  • The candidates should possess manual dexterity for handling equipment and materials, demonstrate attention to detail in all tasks, and have the ability to distinguish between colors as required by the job
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and able to perform tasks that involve bending, crouching, and kneeling

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should prioritize client satisfaction and needs, possess excellent oral communication skills, and show initiative in identifying and addressing tasks and challenges
  • The candidates should exercise good judgment in decision-making processes and be team players, capable of collaborating effectively with others

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to hire, supervise, and schedule staff and plan and direct grounds maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to organize and direct the planting of trees, gardens, and lawns and plan and estimate labor and materials
  • The candidates should be able to organize and direct the construction of fences, decks, and walls, plan, manage, and supervise landscape construction work, and maintain work records and logs
  • The candidates should be able to tender and administer contracts, establish work schedules and procedures, and repair and maintain equipment
  • The candidates should be able to requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies and resolve work-related problems
