Work setting:Â Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio, Relocation costs covered by employer
Supervision:Â 3-4 people
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Hair styling techniques:Â Blow drying, Iron waving/curling, Hair braiding, Permanents, Extensions, Twisting, Locking, Relaxing, Spiking, Pin curls, Roller setting
Hair colouring techniques:Â Streaking/highlights, Frosting, Dyes/tints, Bleach
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be a repetitive tasker
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to do manual dexterity
- The candidates should be able to work in noisy area
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be client focus, flexible, reliable, and judgmental
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication, and efficient interpersonal skills
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to book appointments, cut and trim hair according to client’s instructions or preferences, shampoo customers’ hair
- The candidates should be able to shave and trim beards and mustaches, provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages
- The candidates should be able to supervise other hair stylists and other staff
- The candidates should be able to analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair
- The candidates should be able to apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair, apply hair extensions
- The candidates should be able to clean and style wigs and hair pieces, cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair
- The candidates should be able to suggest hair style compatible with client’s physical features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences, maintain and order supplies
