Igloo Building Supplies Group Ltd. is a one-stop-shop for all interior and exterior construction needs. Founded as a small building supply company in the 1950s, Igloo has grown to be a leading supplier of building materials and manufactured products across Canada. We offer 11 building supply streams including lumber, truss, floor systems, wall panels, stairs, drywall, siding, flooring, finishing, electrical and lighting. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Job Description:

Salary: $17.00 to $23.00 hourly (to be negotiated) 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract, Full time
Location: 16255 County Rd 2 Long Sault, ON K0C 1P0
Shifts: Day, Weekend, Overtime, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, Valid driver’s licence, Public transportation is not available
Work setting: Warehouse, Lumber/forestry industry

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Vehicle and equipment experience: Dollies and hand trucks, Strapping machine, Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Security and safety: Bondable

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be physically demanding, and a repetitive tasker
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • The candidates should be able to handle Hand-eye co-ordination
  • The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be adaptable, collaborative, creative, efficient, energetic, goal-oriented, hardworking, integrated, outgoing, and should have positive attitude
  • The candidates should be quick learner, dependable, reliable, and should have excellent oral communication, and be able to work as a team player

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to build pallets, load, unload and move products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment, operate a variety of equipment to load, unload and move materials and products
  • The candidates should be able to pick orders and stock, weigh materials and goods
  • The candidates should be able to make labels and attach to goods
  • The candidates should be able to wrap goods, pack and unpack goods
  • The candidates should be able to sort, crate and stack goods
