Maple Leaf Foods based in New Hamburg, Ontario is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Hatcher Sanitation. Our company currently employs approximately 120 employees in the hatchery. We are known to have an ability to hatch approximately 900,000 chicks per week. In all, our work includes everything from receiving the eggs from our farms to distributing chicks to many growers across the province.
The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. The vacancies refer to full time or permanent employment. The candidates have to work in Day shifts.

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as a high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to stand for long periods
  • The candidate must be capable of lifting 40lbs. repetitively
  • The candidate must be able to work in a wet/humid environment
  • The candidate should be able to do physical labour

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to fulfill all the COVID-19 regulations requirements
  • The candidate should be able to work varying and flexible hours until job complete
  • The candidate should be committed to working as part of a team
  • The candidate should be potential for help in other departments as needed
  • The candidate should be able to perform other duties as assigned


  • The candidate should be able to handle live animals
  • The candidate must be able to follow SOPS and schedules
  • The candidate must adhere to HACCP requirements
  • The candidate should be able to clean and disinfect Hatcher rooms and other areas of hatchery
