Job Description:

Salary: $19.00 to $23.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 15 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time leading to full time
Location: Edmonton, AB
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, On Call, Flexible Hours
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence and Own vehicle

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Credentials: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and Health Care Aide Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records, and Vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physically demanding tasks and maintain attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods and manage a combination of sitting, standing, walking
  • The candidates should be able to perform bending, crouching, kneeling and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be focused on clients, should be dependable, should have efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidate should have excellent oral communication, should be flexible, should show initiative
  • The candidate should have interpersonal awareness, should have good judgement, should be organized
  • The candidate should be reliable, should be a team player, should have patience

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities and perform other duties related to patient care and comfort and perform other duties related to personal care
  • The candidates should be able to take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse and supervise patients’ exercise routines and maintain inventory of supplies
  • The candidates should be able to bathe, dress and groom patients and administer first aid in emergency situations and transport patients to hospital or other medical facility for further medical care
  • The candidates should be able to provide personal care and prepare meals and serve nutritious meals
  • The candidates should be able to perform light cleaning duties and accompany clients to appointments and social outings
