Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certification
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience with mining equipment (surface), including drills

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have located at the Magino Mine, approximately 88 kilometers northeast of Wawa, Ontario, Canada and promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site
  • The candidates should work a rotation of 7 days on and 7 days off or 14 days on and 14 days off
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical issues with mining equipment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have previous experience with Sandvik, Komatsu, and Caterpillar equipment
  • The candidates should have excellent proficiency in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • The candidates should have strong written and verbal communication skills and hold a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to inspect equipment for proper performance and identify faults and malfunctions
  • The candidates should be able to adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems according to the scope of work
  • The candidates should be able to test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance and the commissioning of new equipment
  • The candidates should be able to actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • The candidates should be able to complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists, while staying current with industry and technical best practices and requirements
  • The candidates should be able to identify and report any unsafe work habits, workplace incidents, and near misses
  • The candidates should be able to maintain hand tools and equipment to ensure safe operation and perform risk assessments prior to each task
  • The candidates should be able to maintain an orderly work area and ensure housekeeping requirements are met
