Salary: $22.00 to $32.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 to 60 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Overtime, On Call, Early Morning
Transportation information: Own transportation, Willing to travel, and Valid driver’s licence
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Diesel engine repair specialization:Â Fuel injection system, Exhaust system, Cooling system, Air conditioning system, Lubrication system, Engine control system, Major internal engine repairs or overhaul, and Installation and alignment of engines and machinery
Powered equipment repair specialization:Â Cable-operated working attachments, Hydraulic-operated working attachments, Compressors, Pumps, Telescopic ladder, Electric generators, and Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts
Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization:Â Drive trains and final drives, Hydraulic transmissions, Tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, Highway vehicle tires and wheels, Differentials, and Brake system
Own tools/equipment:Â Tools and Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials:Â Driver’s License (Class 3 or D), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T), Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Security and safety:Â Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), and Driver’s validity licence check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a physically demanding environment and handle heavy loads up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
- The candidates should be able to maintain attention to detail and demonstrate hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- The candidates should be able to perform tasks requiring bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to work overtime as required and apply sound discrimination in their tasks
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be accurate, focus on clients, and be dependable
- The candidate should communicate excellently orally, be flexible, and use good judgment
- The candidate should be reliable and a team player
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions and diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- The candidates should be able to order parts and maintain inventory and adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
- The candidates should be able to keep maintenance reports and documentation and test repaired equipment for proper performance to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
- The candidates should be able to clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work and perform repair work on heavy trucks
- The candidates should be able to service attachments and working tools and verify and repair emission control systems
