Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have Job experience operating a wide variety of heavy equipment, which must include a dump truck and loader
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be willing to work to contribute to the team environment
- The candidates should obtain TMB Certification on heavy equipment (loader and dump truck) within 6 months of hire
- The candidates should be willing to travel
- The candidates should be prepared to work in adverse weather conditions
- The candidates should be willing to use mandatory personal protective equipment, personal tool kit, and steel toe work boots
- The candidates should adhere to the safety program and all applicable policies and procedures
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess a valid unrestricted (no restriction to automatic transmission) Yukon Class 3 driver’s license with air endorsement
- The candidates should be safety and service oriented
- The candidates should be dedicated to working in an environment that promotes respect, dependability, and reliability
- The candidates should be motivated to learn
- The candidates should demonstrate effective oral communication skills
- The candidates should be self-motivated and adaptable to changing conditions
- The candidates should obtain a Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate within 6 months of hire
- The candidates should obtain a WHMIS certificate within 1 month of hire
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate various pieces of light and heavy equipment and assist with construction and maintenance activities for highways, recreational roads, airstrips, and other facilities throughout Yukon, ensuring they are up to an acceptable standard for safe use by the traveling public
