Salary: $18.00 to $24.00 hourly (To be negotiated) 40 to 50 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Nisku, AB
Shifts: Day, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, own transportation, and own vehicle
Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer, plate work fabrication plant, sheet metal fabrication shop, and metal products manufacturing company
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Equipment and machinery experience: Lifting device, Hand tools
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in dusty, hot, and noisy environments, and be prepared for repetitive tasks
- The candidates should be physically capable of handling demanding tasks, possess attention to detail, and be comfortable standing for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, capable of handling heavy loads, and lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) when needed
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate dependability and exhibit reliability
- The candidates should be team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assist structural steel and plate work fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers, sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials, and grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools
- The candidates should be able to clean machines and immediate work areas, transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant manually or using powered equipment, and load and unload vehicles
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret work orders
