Salary: $26.25 hourly for 32 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Richmond, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, To be determined, and Morning
Work setting: Urban area, work in employer’s/client’s home, and employer’s home

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Area of specialization: Adults, elderly, males, persons with a disability, persons with physical disabilities, and terminally ill
Credentials: Tracheostomy care training, CPR certificate, first aid certificate, and health care aide certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, and reference required

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be aware of the work site environment is non-smoking
• The candidates should be comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling
• The candidates should be capable of a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
• The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads
• The candidates should be prepared for a physically demanding role
• The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks involving loads between 45 and 60 kg (100-132 lbs)

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
• If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, including administering medications
• The candidates should be able to assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
• The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of the householder
• The candidates should be able to change non-sterile dressings and feed or assist in feeding
• The candidates should be able to launder clothing and household linens and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• The candidates should be able to provide companionship and personal care
• The candidates should be able to prepare and serve nutritious meals and provide nursing care
