Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Asset language: Tagalog
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Credentials: Personal Support Worker Certificate

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be non-smokers and capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling
• The candidates should be able to handle a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and handle heavy loads
• The candidates should be open to overtime requirements and comfortable with physically demanding and repetitive tasks
• The candidates should be comfortable sitting, able to stand for extended periods, comfortable with walking, and able to work under pressure
• The candidates should be able to lift between 45 and 60 kg (100-132 lbs)

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should be punctual, have a client focus, and be dependable
• The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and have excellent oral communication
• The candidates should be flexible, demonstrate initiative, and exercise good judgment
• The candidates should be organized, reliable, and team players

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, including assisting clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
• The candidates should be able to assist clients in water, such as in a pool, and in regular exercise, e.g., walking
• The candidates should be able to provide companionship and additional personal care as needed
