Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have Home Support Worker and or Nursing Home Attendant Certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience working in Home Care or community based setting
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have completed TB Screening
- The candidates should possess a Vulnerable Sector RCMP Security clearance
- The candidates should hold a CPR Level C certification
- The candidates should have completed Food Safe training
- The candidates should be certified in WHMIS 2015
- The candidates should possess a valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s license
- The candidates should hold a certificate in HCA, PSW, CCA, or PCA
- The candidates should be aware of potential exposure to pets
- The candidates should be prepared for exposure to second-hand smoke
- The candidates should be available for shift work and weekends
- The candidates should be capable of heavy lifting and bending as required
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience providing personal care, home management, and respite care in a community setting
- Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered
- The candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- The candidates should demonstrate a passion for providing care for chronically ill or elderly clients
- The candidates should exhibit the ability to respect confidentiality
- The candidates should be capable of working independently as well as within a team
- The candidates should have experience working with individuals from various cultural backgrounds
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide home support services to individual clients of the Yukon Home Care Program under the direction of the Home Support Supervisors
- The candidates should be able to promote the optimum level of functioning in the skills and activities of daily living and enhance the quality of life of clients through the provision of home support services
