Salary: $21.00 hourly for 30 hours per week

Location: 7500 CUMBERLAND ST, Burnaby, BC V3N 4Z9
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Overtime, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning 
Work setting: Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis
This is NOT a condition of employment, work in employer’s/client’s home

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Adults, elderly, and females
Credentials: First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be non-smoking and capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling, comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
• The candidates should be physically fit to handle demanding tasks, adept at handling repetitive tasks, and comfortable sitting for extended periods
• The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods, capable of walking for extended periods, and willing to work overtime when required
• The candidates should be able to work under pressure and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

• The candidates should exhibit punctuality, have a strong client focus, and demonstrate dependability
• The candidates should be efficient in interpersonal skills, excel in oral communication, and be flexible
• The candidates should show initiative, demonstrate good judgment, and be organized
• The candidates should be reliable and a team player

Candidate Status:

• Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
• International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, and assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk
• The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household (in the absence of the householder), feed or assist in feeding, and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• The candidates should be able to provide companionship, personal care, and prepare and serve nutritious meals
