Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have successful completion of a one-year Office Administration program from an approved/recognized college
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of occasionally lifting or moving objects less than 10 lbs and may experience time pressures, deadlines, and a lack of control over work pace
  • The candidates should perform constant fine finger/precision work to enter detailed information of patient appointments into computer programs and answer phones
  • The candidates should maintain visual concentration, which may include staring at a computer screen for extended periods
  • The candidates should maintain auditory concentration, which includes listening to stakeholders such as patients and employees, answering the telephone multiple times a day, and gathering information
  • The candidates should be prepared for repetitious activities such as registering patients, requiring alertness as it could involve registration for the emergency department or a clinic

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have successfully completed an approved/recognized medical terminology course
  • The candidates should provide a satisfactory record of work performance
  • The candidates should provide proof of a current office administration program and medical terminology

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to admit patients to the hospital and register patients for outpatient appointments, and day surgery
  • The candidates should be able to conduct interviews with patients/family members to obtain necessary information for the registration process while ensuring patient confidentiality
  • The candidates should be able to update patient information in the Master Patient Index accurately and efficiently
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate bed assignments by contacting appropriate personnel
  • The candidates should be able to obtain consent for admission from patients or their legal representatives
  • The candidates should be able to answer phones and respond to inquiries from patients, family members, and healthcare staff
  • The candidates should be able to order and maintain supplies needed for the admitting office
  • The candidates should be able to work closely with Admission Discharge Managers and Site Clinical Coordinators to ensure efficient patient flow
  • The candidates should be able to perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors
