Fairmont Empress Hotel based in Victoria, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Houseman/woman. Fairmont Empress Hotel is a historic and luxurious landmark overlooking the Inner Harbour. Known for its grand architecture and impeccable service, the hotel offers elegant accommodations, fine dining experiences, and world-class amenities. Guests enjoy panoramic views of the harbour and nearby gardens from beautifully appointed rooms and suites. The Fairmont Empress is renowned for its Afternoon Tea, a tradition that dates back over a century, as well as its signature dining venues showcasing Pacific Northwest cuisine. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be capable of handling physically demanding tasks
- The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to bend, crouch, and kneel as needed
- The candidates should be comfortable standing for extended periods
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate dependability
- The candidates should possess excellent oral communication skills
- The candidates should be reliable
- The candidates should have excellent written communication skills
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors
- The candidates should be able to dust furniture
- The candidates should be able to vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture
- The candidates should be able to make beds and change sheets
- The candidates should be able to distribute clean towels and toiletries
- The candidates should be able to clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
- The candidates should be able to handle and report lost and found items
- The candidates should be able to pick up debris and empty trash containers
- The candidates should be able to wash windows, walls, and ceilings
