Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of 3 year diploma in Human Resources
Experience: Candidates should have 1 year of experience in HR practices, pension and benefit plans, and business requirements

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience with collective agreement administration and demonstrate the ability to work with high volumes of data and formal training or experience in PeopleSoft or other similar HR or Payroll systems
  • The candidates should possess research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a high standard of accuracy
  • The candidates should have knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code or Freedom of Information
  • The candidates should be proficient in computer skills, particularly in MS Office with advanced Excel capabilities

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to ensure employee record and paperwork flow maintenance is complete, accurate, and timely
  • The candidates should be able to manage initial setup for full-time and part-time employees and handle job data changes for all employee events
  • The candidates should be able to manage sick and vacation leave balances, and conduct the monthly vacation and sick leave accrual process
  • The candidates should be able to interpret collective agreements, pension and benefit plans, and ensure Sheridan HRIS adherence to policy and collective agreement requirements
  • The candidates should be able to execute bi-weekly HR information audits, follow up, and correct errors
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with Finance (Payroll) to research discrepancies, resolve employee record issues, and analyze and resolve processing issues
  • The candidates should be able to provide and manage statistical information based on employee data for purposes related to collective bargaining
