Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a 3-year diploma or degree in Human Resources
Experience: Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience in HR, including administration of employee master data, pension, benefits plans, and collective agreements

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should work effectively with high volumes of data for reporting, analysis, and correction of data issues
  • The candidates should create spreadsheets and perform data analyses, demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, and Freedom of Information regulations
  • The candidates should use Microsoft Office applications with proficiency, particularly advanced Excel skills
  • The candidates should apply formal training or experience with PeopleSoft or other similar HR/Payroll systems

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to ensure employee records and paperwork flow are maintained accurately, completely, and in a timely manner
  • The candidates should be able to manage the initial setup for full-time and part-time employees and process job data changes for all employment events
  • The candidates should be able to manage sick and vacation leave balances and run the monthly vacation and sick leave accrual process
  • The candidates should be able to interpret Collective Agreements, Pension and Benefit plans, and ensure HRIS processes align with policies and Collective Agreement requirements
  • The candidates should be able to execute bi-weekly HR information audits, identify discrepancies, and follow up to correct errors
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with Finance (Payroll) to investigate discrepancies, resolve employee record issues, and analyze and correct processing errors
  • The candidates should be able to provide and manage statistical employee data to support collective bargaining efforts
  • The candidates should be able to perform related initiatives, projects, and duties as assigned to support the HR function
