Job Description:

Salary: 50% commission per sale Minimum wage is guaranteed (Approximately $280 weekly)
Employment Type: Permanent employment – Full time
Location: Surrey, BC
Shifts: Day, Weekend, Overtime, On Call
Work Setting: Private practice

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates should have standard educational qualification such as Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, Law (LLB, JD, BCL)
Experience: The candidate should have at least 5 years or more experience in a related industry.
Supervision: 3-4 people
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Membership in the Canadian Bar Association, Membership in a provincial or territorial law society
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, MS Word
Area of work experience: Marketing

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and pay attention to detail.
  • The candidate should be required to work under pressure and maintain tight deadlines.
  • The candidate should handle large workload and large caseload.

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be accurate, initiative, judgemental and focused on client.
  • The candidate should have dependability, flexibility, reliability.
  • The candidate should be organised and a good team player.
  • The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication and excellent written communication skill.

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should advise clients of their legal rights and all matters related to law, plead clients’ cases before courts of law, tribunals and boards (lawyers only), draw up legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion
  • The candidate should represent interests of corporation/employer in all business related to legal matters, supervise professional, para-legal and support staff and articling students
  • The candidate should research legal precedents and gather evidence, provide public education seminars/sessions, write and edit for legal publications
