Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Red Seal Certification (Ontario Electrician license)
Experience: Candidates should have proven industrial field experience 3 years or greater

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to collaborate with automation engineers and work in a team-based environment
  • The candidates should be able to operate production equipment and evaluate performance
  • The candidates should be capable of meeting the physical demands required to perform essential duties and a sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • The candidates should have availability for weekend overtime as production or maintenance demands require

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have knowledge of design, techniques, and tools applied in electronic and electrical applications, with experience in pneumatics and hydraulics
  • The candidates should have extensive knowledge of plant and process equipment operations
  • The candidates should be able to execute planned and scheduled daily tasks with minimal supervision
  • The candidates should have strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills and a full complement of personal or professional hand tools
  • The candidates should have knowledge of the Maintenance Reliability process (predictive and preventative maintenance) and predictive technologies
  • The candidates should be able to use precision tools such as laser alignment equipment, dial indicators, micrometers, and precision or optical levels
  • The candidates should be able to use testing equipment such as vibration analysis and other predictive and preventive maintenance techniques
  • The candidates should have basic knowledge of industrial safety, food safety, and environmental regulations with an absolute commitment to safety
  • The candidates should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and basic computer skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to be deeply involved in progressive, proactive maintenance routines with a philosophy rooted in a predictive approach
  • The candidates should be able to troubleshoot and execute identified corrective maintenance requirements and carry out documented work requests and apply corrective action
  • The candidates should be able to perform assigned work orders and account for inventory and labour on a computerized maintenance management system (SAP)
  • The candidates should be able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • The candidates should be able to conduct preventive maintenance routines and update maintenance records and interpret electrical code specifications
  • The candidates should be able to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • The candidates should be able to maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, variable frequency drives, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic or pneumatic electrical control systems
  • The candidates should be able to test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
  • The candidates should be able to install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic, ethernet, and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components
  • The candidates should be able to ensure all job-related operations follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practice), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System), and health and safety requirements and understand and adhere to all plant Food or Health and Safety Policies
