Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Licensed Industrial Mechanic Millwright with an Ontario Certificate of Qualification
Experience: Candidates should have experience with towlines, automated conveyor systems, automated storage and retrieval systems

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to work at heights up to 100 feet
  • The candidates should have the ability to stand for long periods with occasional laying, stooping, and crouching, plus frequent heavy lifting (up to 50 lb)
  • The candidates should have fabrication experience and the ability to weld in all positions are essential skills
  • The candidates should have the ability to teach/mentor inexperienced trades or apprentices

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have demonstrate skills/experience with pneumatics
  • The candidates should have demonstrated machinery/repair/overhaul & troubleshooting skills with material handling equipment (e.g., conveyors, sorters, combiners, etc.)
  • The candidates should have demonstrated equipment troubleshooting skills
  • The candidates should have machine shop experience, rigging experience, and 5S experience are desirable skills
  • The candidates should be in possession of a Certificate of Apprenticeship (Ontario or Canadian equivalent)
  • The candidates should have Health & Safety experience, demonstrate strong skills using MS Office, and should have Maximo CMMS experience

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to performing service, preventive, and corrective maintenance on all DC equipment, adhering to department procedures and trade best practices
  • The candidates should be able to respond to all equipment breakdowns promptly
  • The candidates should be able to maintain accurate repair parts and work records on the computerized maintenance system (MAXIMO)
  • The candidates should be able to perform repairs with minimal supervision, taking responsibility and making decisions to ensure the job is completed within time demands
  • The candidates should be able to provide information on equipment and system problems to the team lead or maintenance coordinator and offer updates as required, ensuring the job is completed within specified time requirements
  • The candidates should be able to accurately record repair and troubleshooting information for all work in Maximo, including time spent, parts used, failure comments, and suggestions for corrective repairs or improvements
  • The candidates should be able to share information on equipment and system problems
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate flexibility when tasks are re-assigned or altered
  • The candidates should be able to follow maintenance quality and standard operating procedures as established
  • The candidates should be able to train and mentor apprentices in mechanical and job-specific skills
