Shifts: Day, Evening, Morning
Transportation information: Public transportation is available
Work setting: Child care centre
Target audience: Infant (3 months – 11 months)

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Medical exam

Physical Requirements:

The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
The candidates should be able to work in non-smoking area

Other Requirements:

The candidate should be reliable, and judgmental
The candidates should have excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, efficient interpersonal skills, values and ethics, and interpersonal awareness

Candidate Status:

Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers, develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
The candidates should be able to order supplies and equipment, engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts, provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits, maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties, prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor, discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, knowledge of Day Nurseries Act
The candidates should be able to knowledge of licensing regulations, establish guidelines for behaviour, attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members, plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
The candidates should be able to plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
