Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Area of specialization: Agriculture, Salt water fish
Technical experience: Can, package and container inspection, Import and export products, Sampling, Sanitation and hygiene, Warehouse and storage facilities, Grading
Area of work experience: Commercial and industrial inspection
Product inspection experience: Canned products, Frozen products, Pacific groundfish and primitive species, Dried fish products

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to demonstrate attention to detail and distinguish between colours

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should be Judgement

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to ensure health and safety regulations are followed, inspect agricultural products, and inspect products to detect harmful diseases, chemical residues, or infestations
• The candidates should be able to maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports, prepare reports, and examine storage, handling and transportation equipment to ensure that sanitary procedures are followed
• The candidates should be able to inspect the cleanliness and practices of establishment employees and investigate consumer and trade complaints
