Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should hold National Lifeguard Service certification
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be LSS Instructors and Swim Instructors
  • The candidates should possess Standard First Aid & CPR C certification
  • The candidates should have a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the city, required immediately upon hire
  • The minimum age to work as an Instructor/Guard in Ontario is 15 years old for the candidates

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide quality swimming lesson instruction and lifeguard services at the Waterloo Swimplex
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills combined with a background in aquatics, waterfit instruction, and/or the Lifesaving Society Learn to Swim program
  • The candidates should be able to excel in a busy aquatic environment
