Shifts: Day, Weekend, Morning
Work setting: Heritage/historical site, interpretive centre, and museum
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Bilingual Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Student status: Full-time enrollment
Technical experience in cataloging: Curatorial assisting, and interpretation/guiding
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office, MS Excel, and point of sale system
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout their workday
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should consistently deliver accurate work, prioritize client focus in their interactions and tasks, and be dependable and reliable
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills for effective communication, exhibit excellent oral communication abilities, and demonstrate initiative in their work
- The candidates should exercise good judgement in decision-making, be organized in managing their tasks and responsibilities, and be team players collaborating effectively with others
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate audio-visual equipment effectively to support presentations and events, prepare reports accurately and in a timely manner to document activities and findings, and assist in the research, handling, and storage of artifacts to ensure their preservation and accessibility
- The candidates should be able to classify and assign registration numbers to artifacts, supervise inventory control to maintain accurate records, and conduct guided tours of museums, gallery exhibitions, and historical sites, answer inquiries, and provide information to visitors
- The candidates should be able to protect and care for cultural artifacts and collections during exhibitions, transit, and storage to preserve their integrity and value
