Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a completed 2-year diploma in a security
Experience: Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience in a security function such as law enforcement

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships and be capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • This position may require occasional evenings, nights, weekends, and outdoor work in various weather conditions
  • The candidates should demonstrate proven integrity and ethics, high motivation, and strong political acumen

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have related field and or related equivalent investigations, assessments, evaluations, administrative justice; OR a degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience
  • The candidates should have previous law enforcement, intelligence, and experience conducting administrative investigations, fraud, financial analysis, risk, and prevention
  • The candidates should be eligible to obtain an Investigator’s license issued under the Security Services and Investigator’s Act of Alberta
  • The candidates should possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending
  • The candidates should have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, Power BI, Teams)
  • Certification as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
  • The candidates should have experience with database systems such as Video Management software, PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM), and Records Management
  • The candidates should have well-developed analytical and decision-making skills, above-average computer skills, and excellent organizational, time management, interviewing, and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to plan and conduct impartial investigations into allegations of corporate administration policy breaches, as well as matters involving City
  • The candidates should be able to manage cases that involve potentially sensitive, stressful, and traumatic subject matter, maintaining professionalism throughout
  • The candidates should be able to gather and assess various forms of evidence, ensuring thorough documentation and analysis
  • The candidates should be able to conduct investigative interviews with complainants, respondents, and witnesses to gather relevant information
  • The candidates should be able to develop detailed reports and provide factual information to senior management and leaders, aiding in the resolution of sensitive personnel issues
  • The candidates should be able to work closely with internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and collaborate with both internal partners and external agencies to obtain and provide necessary information
  • The candidates should be able to provide guidance on security-related topics to all levels of employees, ensuring awareness and compliance
  • The candidates should be able to develop, review, implement, and assess corporate policies and procedures related to security management and provide evidence in court or arbitration
