Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience in customer service

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
  • The candidates should be able to work in all types of weather conditions and availability to be on-call, including possible evenings and weekends

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least three years driver’s abstract
  • The candidates should be bilingual in English and French, possess experience making deliveries or working as a driver and experience working in a production environment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to start their day in the depot by sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries efficiently, load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle responsibly
  • The candidates should be able to spend most of their day outside, delivering mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to customers on their route and return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery
  • The candidates should be able to work inside a sorting facility, sorting mail and packages accurately and quickly, work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends and operate material handling equipment safely and effectively
  • The candidates should be able to receive and accept mail items in accordance with company procedures
  • The candidates should be able to sort, scan, sequence, and batch mail items to meet processing deadlines and transfer and dispatch parcels and packets as part of the delivery process
  • The candidates should be able to perform other postal clerk duties as required to support team operations and complete reports and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
