Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of High School
Experience: Candidates should have 3+ years experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should hold a valid Refrigeration/Electrician/Plumbing/Appliance Journeyman level license issued by the province
  • The candidates should possess a valid Driver’s License
  • The candidates should demonstrate leadership abilities and effective communication skills
  • The candidates should be capable of providing peer-to-peer technical support
  • The candidates should have experience in project management and handling stretch assignments
  • The candidates should take ownership of facility locations
  • The candidates should have the ability to lead teams effectively, including conducting meetings and managing projects
  • The candidates should be able to help develop strategies to support continual growth and skills development with the apprentice

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform on-the-job training and assessment of new Techs and develop best practices for training
  • The candidates should be able to perform all duties and responsibilities of a Tech 1 and maintain at least 75% proficiency in Tech II duties and responsibilities
  • The candidates should be able to respond to work orders for a wide variety of in-store equipment, including minor repairs of HVAC, refrigeration, hot and cold beverage equipment, ice makers, hot food equipment and fuel dispensers
  • The candidates should be able to respond to work orders related to plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance issues
  • The candidates should be able to replace ‘plug and play’ equipment
  • The candidates should be able to instruct, oversee and correct
  • The candidates should be able to perform additional duties including entries in official log-books and completion of required evaluations
  • The candidates should be able to submit hours/paperwork required for their certifications to the trades board and periodically report on apprentice progress both in the field and classes
  • The candidates should be able to ensure safety policies and guidelines are adhered to by apprentices during their period of training and conduct site assessments, coaching, follow-up and training of new Techs after they have been in the field for a given time
  • The candidates should be able to assess techs’ strengths and areas of opportunity to help coach and train and ensure they are supervising and overseeing their work and support apprentices with online classes
